We returned from a fabulous vacation at Excellence Punta Cana adult only all inclusive resort.
Arrival
Upon arrival to Punta Cana you are required to pay a 20 dollar cash only per person entry fee to enter the country to customs. After clearing customs which was not long, we boarded a bus which we paid ahead of time through Travolocity. The ride to the resort was long about 1hr. The roads are very bad with a lot of potholes so it may seem that the drivers are driving crazy but the are trying to avoid the potholes. When we arrived at the resort we were greeted with a glass of Champagne and a lot of Holas! This 5 star resort is stunning and is kept immaculate.
Accommodations
I booked a garden view suite and when I got to my room I was pleasantly surprised that we had a pool view. I was in Building 1 which was close to the quiet pool and all the restaurants and entertainment. I loved my room and was glad I found this resort on Tripadvisor. The bed was too hard for me. I felt like I was sleeping on bricks. The outdoor lounge beds were much more comfortable. The room was cleaned everyday early. There was a jet tub in the room to use but I didn’t use it.
Entertainment
There is really something for everyone at this resort. They have couple activities and games. I worked out at the new gym. I did a spa treatment with Oscar who I highly recommend. We also attended all the evening shows.
My husband went scuba diving with the dive company on site Dolin Dive Center. There are tons of bars indoors and outdoors. My favorite bar tender was Felix. He always made funny drinks and came up with a drink of the day each day for me.

Beach/pool
We could never get in the ocean because it was always red flagged but we did hang out at the pool area which was beautiful. I also did pool aerobics with the instructor and other guests.
Dining
Although all the restaurants are beautifully decorated and romantic, the food was the worst that I’ve had at any all- inclusive resort. This did not ruin my vacation though. The pizza was the only thing that was very good. We lived off of the brick oven pizza the entire week. There are a few restaurants that we went to that was half way decent. One evening the lobster was mushy but the steak was edible.

On our last day at the resort we ordered room service by the pool for breakfast. It was pretty good..
